Pandora’s Box presents – Open-Mic Night

Into creative writing?

Pandora’s Box runs popular open-mic nights on the Exton Park Campus, hosted by the latest student editors. The nights are for current students (in any department) who want to read out and listen to contemporary creative writing.

• Wednesday 15 March 2023
• 6pm-7.30pm
• Sutton (Beswick) CBE013 – Exton Park

Read out your latest poems, flash fictions or play extracts. Or just listen to what other students have written. The nights are informal and fun. Bring along whatever you want to drink and nibble.

Pandora’s Inbox is open to submissions of poems, flashes, and short stories of up to 500 words. The deadline is 15 March. For more information and how to submit, click here.

CSU Spring Elections – Candidates’ Question Time

Candidates’ Question Time will be held at CSU Exton Park on Thursday 2 March at 6pm – all are welcome to attend! 

This will be a chance for you to hear from all the Candidates and ask about issues that matter to you.

Our Wellbeing and Mental Health team run a number of Student Support Networks to help you connect with other students who may have a similar background or who may be having a similar student experience to you.

They’re all free to join and online – but some events do take place in-person.

The Student Men’s Space Support Network is a friendly and supportive space for those that identify as Male to be able to talk about all aspects of being male including Wellbeing.

LGBTQ+ Student Support Network

Our LGBTQ+ Student Support Network welcomes all University of Chester students, from all sites, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning.  

The “+” sign represents gender identities and sexual orientations not included in the term LGBTQ and ensures we will always be inclusive of everyone in our community.

  • Create an inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Meet their Service Dog

The @hearingdogs charity are coming to give us a talk about the work that they do. They will also be bringing their service dog.

We are very excited about this – to raise more awareness of the charity and to welcome other societies to invite some of their members too!! Even if you aren’t in a society, feel free to come along and get involved – everyone is welcome!

If you are able to, please bring £1 or £2 to donate to the charity on the day. This is not compulsory but very much appreciated!
