This session will develop an understanding of what bibliographic software is and how it can be used: Our session will include:

• ​Setting up your EndNote library and creating a basic group set to manage your re​​ferences 
• How to add references both manually and via export options using subject databases (including Library Search).  
• How to find or export PDF’s of documents into your library and attach to record ​
• Using Cite Whilst You Write​​ to create bibliographies/reference lists in Word and choose an output style

Are you starting your literature review and don’t know where to start? This session is aimed at final year undergraduate and postgraduate students and will help you to plan your searches and use time saving search techniques to find the most relevant academic sources. Learn how to use subject specific databases to find high quali​​ty academic journals and research papers.   

This session will enable y​​ou to: 

•    Develop an awareness of different search techniqu​​es  

• ​   Discover some subject specific resources ​​​

This session will build upon the introduction session and will include the following:  

• ​​How to sort references and arrange references into groups and smart groups and search your library using keywords to aid quick discovery   
• How to synch and share a library with other researchers using EndNote20 online   
• How to use templates to fit record types   
• Where to find and download output styles not already present in EndNote20 and changing output styles using Cite Whilst You Write  
• How to search and import references using wider sources that are not fully compatible with EndNote20 via direct import options (e.g. Google Scholar)   

Aimed at all staff and​ students who have either attended an introductory session already with LIS or have used EndNote before  ​

This session will focus on advanced search strategies using the Education databases. It will enable you to find relevant journal articles for your assignments. 
It is also an opportunity for you to pop along with any library related questions that you might have.​​​​

This session is aimed at anybody who wants to pick up some tips on how to find and access full text journal articles.  It will focus on using both Library Search and web-based sources.​​​

If you have never used your module e-libraries before, or if you want to learn more about how to get the best use from them, then join this session on using your e-libraries for research and finding subject information easily.  

This session will highlight how to find your module e-libraries which include your module reading list (books and eBooks), scanned book chapters and journal articles, and the extensive subject and generic databases section.
