The University of Chester’s Primary and Secondary PGCE courses are designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in teaching following your undergraduate degree. Our one-year, level 7 courses provide a blend of practical classroom experience and evidence-based teaching approaches, ensuring you develop the skills and confidence needed to inspire and educate young learners.

The Primary and Primary/Early Years PGCE pathways equip you to engage and motivate children across all subjects in the primary curriculum and areas of learning in the Early Years framework, while the Secondary PGCE focuses on subject-specific training to support the academic and personal growth of students. All pathways emphasise reflective practice, inclusivity, and teacher and child well-being, helping you navigate the challenges of modern education.

Theology and Religious Studies: Postgraduate ‘Find out more’ event

Library Skills: Advanced EndNote

This session will build upon the introduction session and will include the following: 

  • How to sort references and arrange references into groups and smart groups and search your library using keywords to aid quick discovery   
      
  • Where to find and download output styles not already present in EndNote and changing output styles using Cite Whilst You Write  
     
  • How to search and import references using wider sources that are not fully compatible with EndNote via direct import options (e.g., Google Scholar)   

Aimed at all staff and students (level 6 and above) who have either attended an introductory session already with LIS or have used EndNote before.
