At the University of Chester, we don’t just listen to your student voice – we act on it too!
Check out the responses our Learning and Information Services (LIS) team has asked us to share with you as a result of the feedback you gave us in our All-student Survey in October 2023.
UoC Mobile App
We’re aware of some issues with our new app and we appreciate your patience whilst we address these. We will keep students updated via email and in Student Shout Out on any updates/changes but for now we can confirm that:
- We’ve temporarily switched off push notifications relating to your attendance whilst we investigate the reported issues with this feature.
- We’re investigating the issues a small number of you are having regarding checking into your sessions.
- We’re also looking into why the attendance history is displaying incorrectly in the UoC app for a small number of students.
Wi-Fi
We’re pleased to confirm that since the start of the academic year 2023/24 we have been deploying over 600 new Wi-Fi 6 access points that have increased both the speed and the number of devices that can connect in an area. Most areas have now received the upgrade, however there are a few we will continue to install in 2024. We’ll keep you posted in Student Shout Out when these are completed.
Moodle
We can confirm that the Moodle servers have been updated to improve performance. Throughout the 2024/25 academic year we will be developing Moodle 4.0 which will give improved user experience, accessibility and performance.
AV Training
We are increasing the amount of AV training offered to staff in relation to using audio visual equipment in lectures to help ensure a better student experience.
