Following our All-Student Survey in October 2023, we’re pleased to bring you feedback from our Academic Skills (ASk) team in response to your comments about the service:

  • All students have access to Turnitin DraftCoach which can be used to run similarity, citation and grammar checks ahead of submitting assignments.
  • We have redeveloped our Moodle pages which now include more structured and interactive guidance relating to a wide range of academic skills including time management, structuring and writing assignments.
  • We are offering twilight 1-2-1 appointments between 5pm and 7pm on Mondays and Tuesdays (Maths and Statistics and Academic Skills) for students who may find it challenging to access the provision during the working day.
  • A new Academic Skills Adviser (Maths and Statistics) joined the team in November which will create greater availability for maths and statistics support. There is also our ASk Together group sessions that students can request at times they are available and on a specific skill they would like advice about. To request an ASk Together session email ASk@chester.ac.uk, giving details of the skills you would like to cover, your availability and how many students would like to attend.
