In addition to your course, did you know there are lots of extra things you can get involved in at the University of Chester to make your student experience completely unique? How much or how little you get involved in is completely up to you, but one thing’s for sure – with so much on offer alongside your course, you’ll never be short of things to do at the University.

Have you joined a club or society?

Clubs and societies are a great way to make new friends. Visit Chester Students’ Union’s website for more info on societies or visit Portal for more info on our sports clubs.

Have you met with your PAT?

For Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught programmes, your PAT is a member of staff in your academic department who is your first port of call for any issue you have. From academic advice and guidance to personal help and support, your PAT is here to help. If your PAT can’t help directly, they’ll signpost you to other teams at the University who can.

Your PAT is there to help throughout your student journey – and you should check in with them regularly, regardless of how you feel it’s going. PATs can get you back on track if you feel like you’re struggling, and they can also help you to improve and progress if you feel like you’re doing OK.

You should have already met your PAT by now, but if not, you can find details of your PAT in the ‘My Details’ tab on the UoC app, or via Moodle.

Don’t feel like your PAT is the best fit for you? You do have the option to change to a different member of staff. Simply have a chat with your Programme Leader or Head of Department and fill in a “Change of PAT” form to get the process started.
