The ‘Chester Future Skills Curriculum’ is one of the ways we help you to become a highly valuable graduate that isn’t just work ready, but world ready!

With a focus on applied learning, the ‘Chester Future Skills Curriculum’ is essentially the framework we will use from September 2025 to ensure that our courses remain relevant to the real world. This effectively means we’ll always be helping you to develop the right skills and expertise needed for that graduate career you aspire to.

*Please note: the Chester Future Skills Curriculum will only be delivered to current level 3 and 4 students who are not on a professionally regulated or “fast-track” course. If you have not already received communications about this change via email to your student inbox, you will not be taught under the new Chester Future Skills Curriculum.*

What’s changing in 2025?

Some of you may already be studying in blocks, but currently, most of our courses require students to study six modules concurrently over the full academic year. Starting in your second year, this will be replaced with a more focussed approach:

  • You’ll study one or two modules at a time in each of three 10-week terms
  • This will allow you to immerse yourself more deeply in each subject
  • This should help us to make your timetable more predictable and consistent
  • Assessment will take place throughout the term, with carefully designed spacing to help you manage your workload
