Our Future Festival: Inclusive Communities: Why it’s critical that the environmental movement represents all

The Paris Agreement was signed by 194 Parties in 2015 and is a legally binding treaty, that aims limit average global temperature to well below 2 degrees, and pursue efforts to limit temperature increase to below 1.5 degrees. The 1.5 degree target was added to reflect the most vulnerable nations. It is estimated that between 50 – 200 million people could be displaced due to climate change, by 2050. Many voices can go unheard in the environmental movement, and it is often those at most risk of environmental displacement.
