Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs)
If you feel that you need a little extra support or wish to complete some extra-curricular activity to aid your progression and development, please follow the links to useful resources. Time spent on these ‘new’ learning activities could be recorded as ‘Off-the-Job’ activity on your timesheets.

Career Hub – where you can find out about all our employability enhancing experiences, including career workshops and networking events. You can also find some useful training resources here.
LinkedIn Learning – which is a leading online learning platform that helps anyone to learn business, software, technology, career management and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.
Functional skills – In addition to the support you receive from your employer to help you develop within the workplace and your studies here at the University, you may also find some of our additional support and initiatives useful e.g. functional Maths or English skills.
Library Support & Academic Skills – As an Apprentice at the University, the Library and Academic Skills teams provide a range of support, services and tools that can accessed in-person and online, to suit your needs and fit alongside your working patterns.
Learning and Information Services (also known as LIS) provide:
- access to a vast array of digital and print information resources
- a wide range of study spaces across our library locations
- access to a wealth of technologies enabled by staff expertise to help you study and learn effectively.
Our Academic Skills (ASk) Advisers work with students across all levels and on all courses, to develop your confidence in skills such as academic writing, structuring essays, and referencing.
We also have dedicated Maths and Statistics Advisers, who can help with numeracy skills, interpreting statistics, and running your own data analysis in different software.
You don’t have to be referred by anyone to come and chat to us; we are part of your university support package.
