Before you embark on your exciting journey at the University, we want to ensure you have the best academic support right from the start. That’s why we’ve allocated a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) to assist you throughout your academic adventure.

Your PAT

Your PAT, a knowledgeable member of our academic staff, will help support your academic progress, by providing you with individual and personal advice and support. They’ll play a pivotal role in your university experience.  Further information about the role of a PAT can be found here.

Welcome Week – Your First Meeting

For most new students, the first opportunity to meet your PAT in person will be during Welcome Week. This is your chance to establish a valuable connection with your PAT and get insights into your academic journey ahead. Check your UoC app for Meeting Location.

Accessible and Supportive

Your PAT is here to support you every step of the way. They will inform you about their availability and provide guidance on scheduling future appointments.

Finding Your PAT

Once you have been allocated a PAT (normally early in September), details of who your PAT is and your first meeting can be found on the University App in the “Me” tab and on Moodle at moodle.chester.ac.uk.

For more details, please visit the Pre-Arrival Student Site.
