Students, staff and members of the public are cordially invited to join the English Department for the ‘Reading the Garden’ event, a garden-themed reading and discussion group. Discuss literary gardens in the work of a wide range of writers (a booklet of short extracts will be provided on request). Here is the schedule:

10:00am: Welcome (with tea/coffee/biscuits)

10:30am: Discussion in CVC008

12:00 noon: Break: Lunch in CVC101 (please bring your own packed lunch)

12:45pm: Tour of the Vicarage Gardens

If you would like to attend, then email Professor Deborah Wynne d.wynne@chester.ac.uk to receive the booklet of short extracts to read in advance. If the weather is fine we’ll stroll around the newly-restored Vicarage garden. There will be free tea/coffee/ biscuits (but please bring a reusable cup with you). You are welcome to bring a packed lunch to eat in the Vicarage (or in the garden if it’s dry and sunny). All are welcome!
