Jackie Kay is an internationally renowned poet and novelist and from 2014-2022, Chancellor of the University of Salford. She has written widely on themes of identity, including race, gender and sexuality. In recognition of her wide-ranging literary achievements, Jackie was appointed in 2016 to the prestigious position of Makar or National Poet of Scotland.
