Welcome and Orientation: Stage 2 Enrolment and ID Card Collection for New Fashion Communications Marketing (Social Media) Students

Are you a new Fashion Communications Marketing (Social Media) student starting induction in August?  Once you’ve completed online enrolment and arrived on site, you’ll need to collect your University of Chester Student ID card from a designated collection point.

Your Student ID card is essential – it grants access to key university facilities (including the library and halls of residence) and acts as your official proof of student status. You’ll also be given a lanyard when you collect it.

Please note: All students must wear their ID card while on university sites.

Welcome and Orientation: Fashion Communication Marketing (Social Media) Academic Induction

Starting university is an exciting new chapter.  Your Academic Induction is designed to help you settle in, connect with your tutors and classmates, and feel confident as you begin your studies.

These important sessions will take place during your first week, and we expect all new students to attend. They will help you:

  • Understand your course structure and what’s expected of you
  • Meet your academic tutors, support staff, and your Connect Hub team
  • Connect with your classmates and begin building your student community
  • Get to know the systems, spaces, and resources you’ll use throughout your degree

Academic Induction sessions for the Fashion Communication and Marketing (Social Media) course are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 25th August 2025. Please note that academic induction session dates, times, and locations vary by course. To officially become a student, in-person enrolment is the final step in your enrolment process. The Study Visa and Compliance Team has already emailed you with important information about your enrolment, including other essential steps you must take before you arrive and after you arrive. Please refer to the email from the Study Visa and Compliance Team for full instructions and ensure everything is completed before you attend in-person enrolment.

3 Steps to Complete Your Enrolment:


1. Complete Online Enrolment

– Visit https://login.chester.ac.uk/evlive/

2. Pay Tuition Fees

– You must pay £8,000 towards your tuition fees before you travel to the UK.
– Ensure the payment reference includes your Chester student ID number.
– Delays in payment may prevent you from enrolling and result in visa cancellation.

3. Attend In-Person Enrolment

The final step of your enrolment is to attend In-person International Enrolment at the Seaborne Library, Exton Park. The sessions will be held on the following dates:
25th April
28th April
30th April
2nd May

The Study Visa and Compliance Team will email you to confirm specific details about in-person enrolment.
Once you have completed all 3 steps, you will be able to access official letters confirming your student status.

Important Reminders:
– Complete your online enrolment within the specified timeframe. Make sure you have also added your eVisa share code and your travel details to CAS Shield.
– Pay your tuition fees before travelling to the UK.
– Attend one of the in-person enrolment sessions at Seaborne Library.

Nature Walk (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) 
Unwind with a self-guided walk through the beautiful green spaces. It’s a great way to recharge and connect with the natural surroundings at Queen’s Park.  
 
Outdoor Sports (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
 
Join the Sport and Active Lifestyle team for some fun, informal lawn games outside the Churchill Building. Whether you’re feeling competitive or just want to get moving, everyone’s welcome. 
 
‘Minute to Win It’ with the Chaplaincy (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) 
Stop by for quick and light-hearted challenges like hoopla and egg & spoon races. A fun way to meet the Chaplaincy team and get involved. 
 
Meet the Grounds & Gardens and Sustainability Teams (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM) 
Drop in to chat with the teams that care for our green spaces and take part in a hands-on craft activity with the Sustainability team.
