Unwind in the Chester Students Union Foyer with our Board Game Café launch event, hosted by Chester Roleplay and Gaming Society. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, take a break from the week’s whirlwind of activities, or just enjoy some laid-back fun, this event is the perfect way to connect and relax.

Social Opportunity: For the first hour, sign up in advance for your favourite game and be paired with other students who’ve chosen the same one! It’s a fantastic way to meet new people and share some laughs over a board game, especially if you’re flying solo.

We’ve got an array of games for you to choose from, including Connect 4, The Chameleon, Herd Mentality, Battleships, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Guess Who, Harry Potter Cluedo, and a collection of timeless classics. There will be soft drinks available throughout the evening.

Welcome Week – CSU Mature Student Mixer with Afternoon Tea

Chester Students’ Union is excited to welcome ‘Life in Chester’ to Welcome Week for a fun and creative workshop of Plant Pot Decorating on Friday 27th September from 3pm to 5pm at the Union Bar. Whether you love painting, plants or are just looking for a relaxed way to meet new people, this event is the perfect opportunity to make friends while making something unique that adds a personal, homely touch to your uni accommodation..

For just £6, your ticket includes all the materials you’ll need to decorate your very own plant pot, plus a refreshing mocktail or cocktail to sip on while you create. Want to complete the look? For an additional £1, you can purchase a plant and soil to bring your decorated pot to life!

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, come along and enjoy a creative and social afternoon.

Welcome Week – CSU Presents Band & Beats! EvilBadger + Jenny Jones + SilentDisco with DJ’s

Get ready for a night of dancing to bangers at Chester Students’ Union takeover of the Union Bar with ‘Bands & Beats’ a special band night and silent disco that you won’t want to miss. Tickets £2 on the door.

The night opens with a performance by a talented local pop singer Jenny Jones. Then, Evil Badger, a 5-piece cover band who were recently students at University of Chester will take the stage with a high-energy setlist featuring the best of rock, indie, and funk from the 1960s to today. Expect a mix of anthems and hits that will have you singing along and dancing all night long.

From 10:30 PM to Midnight, the party continues with a unique twist—a Silent Disco! Grab a pair of headphones and switch between two channels, as two local DJs spin a mix of pop, R&B, indie, and dance across two rooms.

Free Entry for all University of Chester students, with limited capacity to 100, so grab your friends and arrive early to secure entry and make it a night to remember!
