PGR Seminar Series
Start Date: 7 October 2022 12:00 pm
End Date: 7 October 2022 12:30 pm
Location: Online Webinar
At this webinar, you’ll find out about some of the amazing research taking place at the University by our PGR students.
This week’s session will be held by Jennifer Robinson who will be talking about Reflexivity as a Methodological Tool in Qualitative Research.
When carrying out and presenting research of any kind, researchers face the complexities and politics of representation. In this presentation, Jennifer explores some of the issues raised through the article ‘Confession, Catharsis, or Cure? Rethinking the uses of reflexivity as methodological power in qualitative research’ in relation to her own research on gambling harm and seek the advice of the audience about similar experiences or views on the benefits and limitations of reflexivity as a methodological tool in qualitative research.
If you’re a Postgraduate Student and are interested in presenting your research, please get in touch with Lucy Rutherford at l.rutherford@chester.ac.uk. There are lots of opportunities to get involved starting from 14 October – and these informal sessions can act as a safe space and a platform to practice presenting academic research in an informal manner with positive and constructive feedback from peers.
