End Date: 14 February 2024 1:00 pm

Location: Careers and Employability Centre, Exton Park (Parkgate Road), Chester

Deciding what to do after university can feel overwhelming. Perhaps this is because few of us have a single calling and the labour market is so complex with new roles developing all the time that it is impossible to know of all the opportunities available.

A job or career is more likely to be right for you if it aligns with who you are as a person. This interactive session aims to give you a deeper insight into what you want from your working life to enable you to identify careers that are more likely to make you happy and fulfilled. The activities will help you to explore and articulate your essential personal drivers (e.g. your strengths, interests, values, motivations, personality). We will explore ways that you can use this process of self-reflection to develop career ideas and to provide focus for a job or course search.

ConfidentME Week – #IAmRemarkable

Start Date: 13 February 2024 12:00 pm

End Date: 13 February 2024 2:00 pm

Location: Teams

#IAmRemarkable is a Google inspired initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Many of us struggle when it comes to talking about our own accomplishments. Cultural and gender modesty norms as well as impostor syndrome can prevent anyone from acknowledging their remarkable attributes and expressing their achievements.

The session will allow you to:

  • Learn the importance of self-promotion in your personal and professional life
  • Equip you with the tools to develop this skill.
  • Challenge the social perception around self-promotion

The training will be facilitated by a member of our Careers and Employability team, it will be a safe space to develop skills, engage in discussions, and allow self-reflection.

Please note, due the interactive nature of the workshop, spaces will be limited to 15 students for each session. If you book a session, please attend or ensure you cancel in sufficient time.
