Ben practices primarily English Law and advises on areas such as cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He is currently ranked as a leading individual for M&A by the legal 500 United Kingdom, and since 2010, ben has overseen the development of a trainee solicitor programme in the London office for Sullivan & Cromwell.

How can creative practices support health?

Content Synopsis

Professor Paul Crawford introduces creative public health relevant to health professional education. He draws on his pioneering work in the health humanities. This includes his research on cabin fever during Covid pandemic lockdowns and campaign for young people’s mental health with Academy-award winning animation company Aardman (Shaun the Sheep, Wallace & Gromit). He will show how creative practices can support health and explore the implications for the education and practice of health professionals.

Biography

Professor Paul Crawford is the founder and the world’s first professor of the field of health humanities. He directs the Centre for Social Futures at the Institute of Mental Health, The University of Nottingham, UK. He has contributed to policy development in mental health and human care in the UK, advising senior politicians on the importance of the arts and humanities in healthcare, health and wellbeing. He consults on mental health, health care environments, and has spearheaded the notion of creative public health—democratising arts and humanities knowledge and practices to advance health and wellbeing.

Health and Wellbeing RKEI: Adult Mental Health Special Interest Group Launch

We are pleased to welcome you to the inaugural meeting of the Adult Mental Health Special Interest Group, which brings together leaders and practitioners from academia and service providers to collaboratively build a programme of research, audits and service evaluations. 

Weare keen to support the development of projects that have real-world applicability.Dr Peter Wilson, Consultant Psychiatrist and Strategic Clinical Director, Specialist Mental Health services, Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will outline the mission of CWP in the SIG.

Professor Paul Kingston, Director Institute of Health and Wellbeing will describe the aspiration of the Institute to increase co-created research, service evaluation and audit with our partners.

The short presentations will be followed by a discussion led by Professor Taj Nathan.
