In this session, you will learn about the Chester Students’ Union, an independent charity that acts as a key representative channel between students and the University of Chester. We’ll explore the many ways students can get involved, from Student Voice and Elections to Societies, events, and the support offered through our independent advice service.
Additionally, Boma, your International Students’ Officer, will share valuable insights about his role, how he can support international students, and his personal experience as an international student at UoC. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover how the Students’ Union can enhance your university experience!

Are you a new international undergraduate or postgraduate student starting this October? This essential session is designed to fully prepare new international students for in-person enrolment at the University of Chester.

We’ll guide you through each step of the process, including what to bring, where to go, and what to expect on the day. You’ll also receive a reminder of the tasks you need to complete beforehand, such as online enrolment, paying your fees, and uploading your photograph for your student ID.

In addition, the Study Visa and Compliance team will explain key responsibilities around your e-visa and right to study document checks, with helpful tips to avoid common issues.

By the end of this session, you’ll feel confident and fully prepared to complete your in-person enrolment smoothly and successfully.

Join our Study Visa and Compliance team for this essential session, where you’ll learn everything you need to know about your Student visa responsibilities. We’ll cover attendance requirements, right to study checks, working in the UK, and the ongoing support available to you throughout your time at the University of Chester.

You’ll also hear from our International Academic Learning and Development (IALD) team, who will explain how they can support you if English is not your first language, including academic language development and specialist workshops to help you succeed in your studies.

This is a compulsory session and a vital step in completing your enrolment. It is also a great opportunity to ask questions, connect with other students, and begin your university journey with clarity and confidence.
