Whatever your programme, year of study, or educational background, the Academic Skills team (ASk) can provide you with friendly, flexible advice to build confidence in your academic abilities.
We have specialist advisors to help you develop both your writing and your maths and statistics skills. Our varied and flexible support options ensure that you can access our support whether you’re on a University campus, on the move, or studying at home.
Online resources
We have a wide range of resources that you can access anytime from any location on our Academic Skills and Maths and Statistics Moodle pages. These include downloadable support materials and short guidance videos, designed in collaboration with students to provide the kinds of help they need.
Podcast
Listen to your ASk advisors talking frankly, and funnily, about the joys and tribulations of academic writing, statistical analysis and university assignments on our very own podcast, The Skills Pod. You can find episodes on a wide range of topics, many featuring advice from lecturers and from current and former students. We’re always looking for ideas for new recordings, so if you can’t see something that you know would be useful for you, let us know!
