Have you heard of our International Academic Learning and Development (IALD) team?
The IALD team’s most important role is the design, delivery, and management of our in-sessional academic English (ISE) classes for international students (who do not come from majority English-speaking countries). The team liaise closely with degree course teams to ensure students are given the skills they need to help them complete their assignments and achieve their best possible results.
The team also delivers:
- pre-sessional course (PSE) for incoming students over the summer, for those students who have the required academic qualifications but need to improve their academic English prior to achieve the level required for entry to the university for UG or PG study.
- a module for Erasmus exchange students
- teaching for the level 5 experiential learning module, LD5300 Intro to TEFL, which offers a practical, vocational module for 2nd year students (particularly in Languages, English & Education) who may be going abroad in their 3rd year or who are considering English Language Teaching post-university or as a career.
- the MA TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) course for English Language teaching.
- And much more.
