The Volunteering and Mentoring Team are currently recruiting for Volunteer Project Coordinators for two brand new projects! Why not get involved?

Dementia Café (Warrington)

Are you passionate about helping people? Would you like to make a positive impact on people in your local community who are affected by dementia? Are you interested in creating social opportunities for people who may be experiencing loneliness? If you are looking to gain some skills in running a project and you’re passionate about helping people with dementia, then this could be the project for you!

The Volunteering Team and University Centre Warrington are working in partnership with Warrington Voluntary Action to offer Dementia Café’s at the Time Square site. These café’s will be held monthly and will be an opportunity for people with an early diagnosis of dementia to come together for peer support, coffee, and a chat and maybe a cake or two! The Cafes will be supported by volunteers who will be there to socialise with the participants and help them to get the most from the social event.

inCredible Project

Are you interested in raising awareness about misinformation online? Are you enthusiastic about educating young people? Help young people to identify what is credible information with the inCredible Project!

The inCredible Project will work towards tackling the issue of misinformation, by delivering interactive workshops to young people in schools or youth clubs. These workshops will aim to equip young people with the basic tools to distinguish between fact, opinion, misinformation and to support them to be able to identify manipulative language.

Developed by a University of Chester Student, the Volunteering Team are looking to recruit another Project Coordinator to support the delivery of this project.
