Do you have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition or a social and communication difference?
The University of Chester is keen to increase autism acceptance and understanding in both staff and students and we want to enable you to feel accepted and valued for who you are. By telling others about your diagnosis, we can make adjustments and offer specialist assistance which should ensure that your time at our university is easier.
The Autism Project is designed to offer specific tailored support and has three key aspects
- The Online Transition Toolkit: this provides information, advice and guidance on a range of topics to support you with your transition from college to university and during your time at university.
- Active & Life Skills Sessions: one-to-one sessions with our Lifestyle Coach which can offer you support with Life Skills such as fitness, money management, nutrition, cooking, organisation skills, socialisation and time management.
- Job Coaching & Employability Skills training: this is delivered to students through our partner organisation the Bren Project. They can also support students who are preparing for their Level 5 work-based learning module.
The project ends in May 2023, so if you’re interested in being involved in the project and accessing our support please contact disability@chester.ac.uk as soon as possible.
