We know that right now being a student isn’t easy. Bills are higher than ever, and your student loan can only stretch so far… so after listening to your feedback, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our new Cost of Living Fund!
Open to all eligible University of Chester students, we’ve created this fund to make your lives easier and to try and reduce the stress and anxiety the current cost of living crisis may be causing you.
How do I apply?
You can apply for the fund via this application form.
You’ll also need to provide the following documents as evidence:
- Two months of recent bank statements for your main account (this is the account you use to pay daily living expenses). Statements need to be in PDF format showing the running balance.
- A screenshot of any other savings or accounts in your name. These must clearly show the current balances.
- Evidence of how you’re funding your course i.e. Student Loans Company letter.
When can I apply?
Applications open today (Monday 13 March) and will close at midnight on Monday 10 April 2023.
Who can apply?
All University of Chester students can apply, both home and international, as long as you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- You are studying a full/part-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Chester. Part-time students should be at least 25% intensity.
- You are not on financial or disciplinary suspension
You can view the full terms and conditions for applying for the Fund here. Please read them carefully before applying.
Who will receive funding?
Unfortunately, there is only a limited amount of funding available via the Cost of Living Fund, so applying for the fund does NOT guarantee that you will receive funding.
This fund is designed to ONLY help those most in need so all applications will be reviewed on a case-by case basis and funding will be awarded to those who are eligible and are deemed most in need.
When/how will I know if I’ve been successful?
Once applications have closed on Monday 10 April, your application will be reviewed by a member of the Your Money team. If you’re eligible for an award, a member of the team will then email you directly via your student email address to confirm next steps.
Please note:
- Applications will NOT be reviewed until after 10 April to ensure all interested students have had chance to apply.
- Due to the volume of applications we expect to receive, if you have not been successful, you will NOT receive an email from the Your Money team.
Can I speak to anyone about my application?
Yes, you can contact our Info Point team to talk about your application:
