Who is StepChange and how can they help?
StepChange is a debt charity who provide free debt advice to hundreds of thousands of people every year.
They offer debt advice which is based on an assessment of your situation, and they give practical help and support to help you understand your debts and the options you have to deal with them.
What are the benefits of having a referral portal?
We know it’s tough to talk about debt, and we know it’s even tougher to ask for help.
We want to help you access free debt advice earlier and make it simpler for you to take control of your situation. There are numerous benefits to this approach:
- You can speak with someone from the Your Money team, who can also suggest other support which may benefit you from within the university.
- We can explain who StepChange are and the work they do.
- We can talk you through the process of seeking debt advice.
- We can help you take the first step to accessing debt advice by referring you to StepChange if you’d like us to.
