We’re pleased to officially welcome our brand-new Officer team into their new roles within Chester Students’ Union (CSU).

Let’s get to know them a bit better:

Name: Ellie Smith

Role: CSU President

What is your main interest? Playing sport, especially hockey!

Favourite pizza topping? Definitely ham and pineapple!

What animal would you be if you could choose? Some kind of bird – so I could travel around the world easily.

What’s a fun fact about you? I owned 16 pets when I was younger!

Finally, what are you most excited to work on in the next year? To work with the other two officers to successfully achieve the points on our joint manifesto, so you have the best student experience possible 😊

Name: Jack Sanderson

Role: Vice President for Education

What is your main interest? I am really interested in seeing Newcastle United in the Champions League this year. It doesn’t happen very often so I’ll be making the most of it!

Favourite pizza topping? It would have to be chicken but only if the pizza has garlic on too.

What animal would you be if you could choose? A golden retriever because they are friendly and good boys.

What’s a fun fact about you? I flew a plane before I drove a car!

Finally, what are you most excited to work on in the next year? I want to represent students the best I can and work with the other elected officers in order to achieve our priorities and improve the student experience.

Role: Vice President for Student Life

What is your main interest? Watching and playing sport, reading books and watching TV and films.

Favourite pizza topping? Pepperoni

What animal would you be if you could choose? An Eagle, I would like to fly to avoid traffic.

What’s a fun fact about you? I lived next door to a double Olympic gold medallist (Dame Kelly Holmes) and my great aunt was in The Sound of Music film as Sister Margarita.

Finally, what are you most excited to work on in the next year? Working with the fantastic societies and sports teams that the University has to offer.
