While a lot of you have been on summer break, a lot of our University teams have been busy working on exciting new changes for the 23/24 academic year
UoC mobile app:
We’ve made key changes to make the UoC app more stable and we’ve also added lots of useful new content and info around things like sport, AU clubs, security, careers, training courses and part-time job vacancies.
Seaborne Library:
We’ve made major changes to Seaborne Library at Exton Park based on your feedback from our Student Voice surveys. Key changes include the relocation of our PG space, and the introduction of new social and study spaces.
Binks:
The entrance area in Binks has been reconfigured as a new student space which is perfect for relaxing between lectures.
Catering:
We’ve made major changes to our Catering outlets:
- The Dining Room at Exton Park is now a food market-style restaurant with a wide range of options, including our Go Global concept offering diverse world cuisines
- A new sandwich shop Stacked is located in Westminster
- A new Bake and Bite outlet is located in Binks
- Our new Union Bar (formerly known as the Varsity Bar) has a brand-new menu and draught line up
Rigg:
We’re putting the finishing touches to major work at the Rigg building to get it ready for our Foundation Year students who will now be based here. This building will support teaching and learning with seminar rooms, staff offices, brand-new kitchens, and touchdown independent and collaborative workspaces.
Gateway House:
The former home of our Foundation Year students, Gateway House will be new home of our Journalism and Creative Writing students for the 23/24 academic year. In the next few weeks we’ll be finalising major work to turn the building into a key media hub with seminar rooms, newsrooms, staff offices, a tech office and equipment store, a multimedia hub, comfortable common room and kitchens, and two podcast studios.
Sumner House:
We’re also completing major work on Sumner House – 125 en-suite rooms located just five minutes from Exton Park.
