If you hold a student visa or a short-term study visa and are enrolled in a course lasting six months or longer, you will need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) in Chester. If your BRP has been delivered to the University, you can pick it up during one of our International Student Welcome Days: 

  • Monday 30 September, Monday 7 October, Monday 14 October 
  • 10am-3pm 
  • Seaborne Library, Exton Park 

You are only required to attend one of these events. You will receive further instructions from the Study Visa team regarding the collection of your BRP. Please ensure you bring your passport to this event. For additional guidance, please read the information below to help you make the most of your day:

Essential Tasks: 

  • Complete Stage 2 of Enrolment 
  • Obtain your University ID and lanyard 
  • Finalise your fees (if applicable) and speak with finance 
  • Collect your British Residency Permit (BRP) 
  • Speak to English for Academic Purposes Team 

Additional Activities: 

  • Meet with other students 
  • Get help connecting to University Wi-Fi 
  • Open a Bank Account 
  • Chat to staff from the University and Chester Students’ Union (CSU) 
  • Talk to Student Ambassadors about their experiences 
  • Write a postcard home! 

We’ll also have stalls from various teams from across the University where you can find out more information, including Accommodation, Careers and Employability, Finance team & Convera and Sports and Active Lifestyle.
